New York Giants: Nat Berhe Will Make First Career Start At Safety
In place of rookie Darian Thompson, Nat Berhe will get the start at safety for the New York Giants today.
When the Giants took safety Darian Thompson in the third-round of this year’s draft, the expectation was that he would probably be the day one starter.
But according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, that won’t exactly be the case later today when the Giants play their first regular season game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Instead, safety Nat Berhe will get his first career start.

Berhe, 25, was drafted in the fifth-round of the 2014 NFL Draft, but failed to play in a game last season due to injury (calf).
Thompson was dealing with an injury (shoulder) of his own during the preseason, but has been labeled “healthy” and ready-to-go for the start of the season.
This move may simply be about easing the rookie safety into his first career regular season game – nothing more.
