Eritrean Tigrinya Video News: Eri-TV Zena – Asmara, 22 June 2013 – Eritrean community members in Kuwait, Egypt, Uganda and South Africa have reiterated readiness to honor the trust of martyrs.

The Eritrean community members in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, have jointly taken the responsibility of backing 100 families of fallen heroes, besides extending a total of 18,254 Riyal. Speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mohammed-Omar Mahmoud, indicated that nation-building is part of the trust of martyrs, and called on the community members to enhance participation to this end.

Pointing out that the Day is a memorial of national tribute, Mr. Girmai Yemane, chairman of the Eritrean community in Riyadh and its environs, expressed the community’s readiness to care for families of martyrs. A total of 163 members of the community who have been extending consistent financial support to such families in the year 2012 received certificate of merit on the occasion that witnessed the staging of various activities by children and students.

In the same vein, the Eritrean community members in Egypt, Kuwait and Uganda marked the Day with patriotic fervor through organizing a range of programs, including candlelight evenings. In this connection, the Eritrean Ambassador to Uganda, Mr. Mohammed Suleiman, called on the nationals residing in the country to step up participation in national development programs.

Also in a, in a similar ceremony in Johannesburg city, the Eritrean community members in South Africa extended 12,000 Rands honoring the trust of martyrs.Speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa and the southern Africa region, Mr. Saleh Omar, stated that the commitment of nationals and the Government as regards honoring the trust of fallen heroes should be gauged in line with the nation’s development pace.

Similarly, Eritrean community members in Geneve city, Switzerland, have reiterated readiness to honor the trust of martyrs during a ceremony they held to mark Martyrs Day.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bereket Woldeyohanes and Mr. Shileshi Idris, both from the Eritrean Embassy in Switzerland, called on the community members to enhance efforts as regards backing families of fallen heroes.

During the event, the Eritrean community members donated more than 3,200 Swiss francs and 50,000 Nakfa honoring the trust of martyrs. More videos @ or
